i just want to say

that i'm thankful for all the life lessons, hard as they were, and i'm thankful for the depth of being that i've gained from my study of life, yoga and sufism. i'm thankful for the amazing partner that i have in all this now. i hope that i continue to grow, becoming deeper and more complex. and that, my friends, is my mysterious and cryptic message.

jobs that are worse than mine

i just got off the phone with a nice woman who is the new member coordinator for the HMO thingie. she asked me about 50 questions about my health history and that of my family. (i actually don't know their history very well. she asked if i was adopted, but i wasn't.)

i'm assuming, which i know is bad, that this is what she does all day. maybe i'm wrong. regardless, when i hung up, i thought, "wow. your job is worse than mine."

yes virginia, i'm still here...

i'm still here, but it seems like most of you probably heard all my news in other outlets. let me know if you haven't and i'll recap here...

such sweetness

wow. i'll try not to get too sentimental here. i'm not even sure where to start.

dr. luv. what an amazing person, partner friend. i get to spend a really long time enjoying the adventure with him. most people only know him a little, but let me tell you that he really is gold.

our friends have been showering us with good times and good vibes. for me it was yoga and henna with my lady friends and for daniel it was a long hike and good meal with his. i've gotten so many notes here supporting me throughout.

our friends in hawaii, leilah and bodhi, are working up a sufi/hindu/buddhist/native american/hawaiian wedding ceremony for us that will most certainly be out of this world. the big surprise and key piece will come from annie and her friend wei, who will provide balinese music on the gender wayang. thanks to gamelan, daniel and i discovered each other in more depth. thanks to facebook, i was able to connect with annie. she's been so excited and flexible about changes in plans and so gracious, all in the midst of planning her own wedding for next month!

thanks to the internet, i found the perfect dress, made from a vintage sari and nearly the perfect size. stay tuned in a few weeks for pictures!

thanks to everyone for all the support. it's been so beautiful to receive. in 24 hours, we'll be on our way to maui. the wedding is currently planned for saturday december 20, at 11am. (it's changed a few times already...) we're both so excited about all of it and beyond. we are each other's perfect loves.

31 days until the wedding.

i have:

--a partner to wed
--appointment for marriage license on maui
--officiants to marry us
--a dress to wear (made from a vintage sari)
--surprise musicians to play balinese music
--airline tickets to destination wedding

hmm, that might be about what i've got so far. what else do i need?

was shopping online earlier for some sparkly/bejeweled flip-flops. am not sure about headpiece, found some nice ones on etsy, but am considering either nothing or real flowers. will need to get a bouquet or leis or something there.

oh yeah! gotta write a ceremony of some sort and some vows. EEK!
